This Privacy Policy complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

2. Information We Collect

The Applications may obtain the information you provide when you download and register the Application.

2.1 Personal Information

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

  • Name, age, gender
  • Email address and phone number
  • Health assessment responses (Prakriti/Vikriti), collected when you choose to complete these assessments
  • Wellness practice preferences and tracking

The information you provided may be used to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information and required notices.

2.2 Consultation Data

When you use our doctor consultation service, we additionally collect:

  • Health concerns and symptoms described during booking
  • Consultation records including date, time, and duration
  • Prescriptions, doctor's summary, and treatment recommendations
  • Your location (city/state) for regulatory compliance
  • Preferred language and call preference (video or phone)
  • WhatsApp number for consultation communication
  • Your consent acknowledgment and timestamp for each consultation

Practitioner Access: Your Ayurvedic constitution (Prakriti), current health status (Vikriti), active wellness practices, and current season are shared with the consulting practitioner to provide informed, personalized guidance. This information is visible to the practitioner only during your consultation.

2.3 Payment Information

For paid services such as doctor consultations:

  • Payment transactions are processed securely by our payment gateway partner, Cashfree Payments
  • We store transaction references (order ID, payment status, amount) but do NOT store your credit/debit card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank account details
  • Payment data is retained as required for tax and legal compliance under Indian law

2.4 Technical Information

In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to:

  • Device information (type, OS, unique identifiers, IP address)
  • Usage data (features used, time spent)
  • App performance and crash reports

Location: We do not track precise GPS location. We may derive your approximate region from your IP address to provide appropriate seasonal recommendations based on your area, but precise location data is not collected or stored.

2.5 Sensitive Personal Data

Under Indian IT Rules, we collect:

  • Health information through assessments
  • Physical and mental health details
  • Wellness practice records
  • Consultation records and prescriptions
  • Payment transaction references

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Primary Purposes

  • Provide personalized wellness recommendations
  • Deliver seasonal guidance and practices
  • Track your wellness journey progress
  • Improve app functionality and content
  • Authentication

3.2 Consultation Services

  • Facilitate doctor consultations and appointment scheduling
  • Share your health profile with the consulting practitioner for informed guidance
  • Generate and deliver prescriptions
  • Process payments for consultation services
  • Maintain consultation records for continuity of care and follow-up consultations
  • Comply with telemedicine regulatory requirements

3.3 Communications

  • Send wellness tips and seasonal updates
  • Notify about app updates and new features
  • Respond to your queries, feedback and support requests

4. Information Sharing

WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES

4.1 Sharing with Consulting Practitioners

When you book a doctor consultation, the following information is shared with the assigned practitioner for the purpose of providing informed clinical guidance:

  • Your name, age, gender, and location
  • Your health concern as described during booking
  • Your Ayurvedic constitution (Prakriti) and current health status (Vikriti)
  • Your active wellness practices and current season
  • Previous consultation records and prescriptions (for follow-up consultations)

Practitioners are bound by professional medical ethics and confidentiality obligations under Indian law, including the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations and applicable AYUSH practitioner regulations.

4.2 Payment Processing

Consultation payments are processed by Cashfree Payments, our payment gateway partner. Cashfree receives only the information necessary to process your payment (transaction amount, order reference). They do not have access to your health data. Cashfree's privacy practices are governed by their privacy policy at https://www.cashfree.com/privacy-policy/.

4.3 Other Limited Sharing

  • Technical service providers (with strict confidentiality)
  • Legal compliance when required by Indian law
  • Emergency situations to protect health and safety

4.4 Aggregated Data

We may use anonymized, aggregated data for research and improvement purposes.

4.5 Technical Service Provider

We use Firebase, a service provided by Google LLC, for:

  • User authentication (secure login via OTP)
  • Database storage (your profile, assessments, and wellness data)
  • App infrastructure and hosting

Data Location

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers located in India (Mumbai region - asia-south1).

Data Processing

Firebase processes your data on our behalf according to our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes. We have a data processing agreement with Google that requires them to:

  • Protect your data with industry-standard security measures
  • Use your data only for providing services to Daily Ayurveda
  • Not share your data with other parties
  • Comply with our privacy commitments to you

Google's Privacy: Firebase's data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Important: While we use Google's infrastructure, we retain full control over your data and how it's used. Google acts only as a technical service provider and cannot access your health information for advertising or other purposes.

5. Data Security

5.1 Security Measures

We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example:

  • Encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest
  • Limitation of data sharing with employees and contractors
  • Secure servers with regular security audits
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Regular backup and recovery procedures

5.2 Data Retention

Active Accounts

  • Your personal data is retained as long as your account remains active
  • Health assessment data (Prakriti/Vikriti) retained to provide personalized recommendations
  • Wellness activity history retained to track your progress

Consultation Records

  • Consultation records, prescriptions, and doctor's notes are retained for a minimum of 3 years from the date of consultation, as required under the Indian Medical Council regulations and Telemedicine Practice Guidelines
  • Payment records are retained for the period required under applicable tax laws (typically 7 years under the Income Tax Act)
  • Your consent acknowledgments for consultations are retained as long as the associated consultation records are maintained

Account Deletion

  • When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted from production systems within 30 days
  • Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes, then are permanently deleted
  • Some anonymized, aggregated data (with no personal identifiers) may be retained for analytics to improve the app

Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage data and app performance data retained for 12-18 months for analytics and improvement
  • Crash reports retained until issue is resolved, typically 3-6 months

Legal Requirements

  • We may retain certain data longer if required by Indian law (e.g., for tax or legal compliance)
  • In such cases, data is securely stored and access is strictly limited

Minimum Retention

We do not retain your data longer than necessary for the purposes stated in this policy.

CONSENT: By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.

6. Your Rights

6.1 Access Your Data

View in App

All your personal information and wellness data is accessible within the app at any time:

Profile Information: Settings → My Profile (view your name, age, gender, contact details)
Assessment Results: Dashboard (view your Prakriti and Vikriti results)
Practice History: Settings → Practice History (view completed wellness activities)
Pinned Activities: Dashboard (view your personalized wellness wall)

Download Your Data

To receive a complete copy of your data in portable format (JSON/CSV), please email your request to info@dailyayurveda.health with the subject line "Data Download Request".

We will respond within 7 business days with a file containing:

  • Your profile information
  • Prakriti assessment responses and results
  • Vikriti assessment responses and results
  • All pinned and completed activities
  • Consultation history, prescriptions, and doctor's summaries
  • Payment transaction records
  • Account history

6.2 Correct Your Information

You can update your information at any time:

Profile Details: Settings → My Profile (edit name, age, gender)
Assessment Results: Retake Prakriti or Vikriti assessments to update your constitution or health status
Contact Information: Settings → Account Details

For corrections that cannot be made in-app, email info@dailyayurveda.health.

6.3 Delete Your Account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
  2. Review the warning about permanent deletion
  3. Confirm deletion

What happens:

  • Your account is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • All personal data, assessments, and activity history are removed from our production systems
  • Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery, then are permanently deleted
  • Consultation records and prescriptions may be retained in anonymized form for the legally required retention period (minimum 3 years) even after account deletion, as required by medical record-keeping regulations
  • You will receive email confirmation of deletion

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

6.4 Opt-Out of Communications

If we send promotional communications in the future:

  • Email communications will include an unsubscribe link
  • In-app notifications can be disabled in Settings → Notifications

Currently, we only send essential account-related communications (authentication, security alerts).

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal tracking technologies for:

  • App functionality and user preferences
  • Analytics to improve user experience
  • You can disable tracking through app settings

8. Children's Privacy

This App's wellness content is designed primarily for adults. Users aged 16 and above may use the app independently. Users below 16 may use the App under direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts responsibility for their use. For paid services (when available), users must be 18 or have parental consent.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16 without parental involvement. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your supervision, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

9. Data Transfers

Your data is stored on servers located in India. If international transfer becomes necessary, we ensure adequate protection.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
